Looking forward – February 2013

The Committee on the ACS Transition to Practice Fellowship in General Surgery is charged with developing fellowships for young surgeons who are leaving residency and entering into the practice of general surgery. Dr. Hoyt’s column explains how the program is intended to help fill perceived gaps in training today and provides an overview of the program’s pilot testing phase in several sites within regions currently underserved by general surgery trainees.
