Presidential Address: Achieving our personal best: Back to the future of the American College of Surgeons
Andrew L. Warshaw, MD, FACS, FRCSEd(Hon), highlighted the accomplishments and the legacy of Ernest Amory Codman, MD, FACS, in his Presidential Address at the Convocation Ceremony during the 2014 Clinical Congress.
Andrew L. Warshaw, MD, FACS, FRCSEd(Hon) was installed as ACS President and Jay L. Grosfeld, MD, FACS, FRCSEng(Hon), FRCSI(Hon), FRCPS(Hon), and Kenneth L. Mattox, MD, FACS, were installed as Vice-Presidents at the 2014 Clinical Congress.
The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (RCSEd) recognized the achievements of Andrew L. Warshaw, MD, FACS, President-Elect of the ACS, and Jatin P. Shah, MD, FACS, on April 25. Dr. Warshaw was awarded Honorary Fellowship in recognition of his work in pancreatic surgery and for his surgical leadership throughout his career. Dr. Shah received Honorary Fellowship from the RCSEd’s Faculty of Dental Surgery in recognition of his contributions to medicine, particularly in the field of oral oncology.
Andrew L. Warshaw, MD, FACS, was elected President-Elect of the ACS during the Annual Business Meeting of Members. In addition, the First and Second Vice-Presidents-Elect were elected, along with a new ACS Treasurer and Secretary.
The 1913 Legacy Campaign fundraising initiative was publicly announced during the Fellows Leadership Society luncheon during the 2013 Clinical Congress.
