Dr. Hughes is a general surgeon and clinical professor of surgery and director of medical education, Kansas University School of Medicine, Salina. He is an ACS Communities Editor, ACS Secretary, and Past-ACS Governor, and a founding member and Past-Chair, ACS ACRS. He is a member of the ACRS ad hoc committee that is developing the new program for verifying surgical quality in rural hospitals.
