Dr. Caropreso is former adjunct clinical professor of surgery, University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City. He is Past-Second Vice-President of the ACS, Past-ACS Governor, and a founding member of the Advisory Council for Rural Surgery (ACRS). He is a member of the ACRS ad hoc committee that is developing the new program for verifying surgical quality in rural hospitals.
