Dr. Burns is research scientist, department of academic affairs, Hartford (CT) Hospital, and assistant professor, department of traumatology and emergency medicine, University of Connecticut, Farmington. She was a primary collaborator for the development of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Advanced Trauma Operative Management Course and for the Trauma End-of-Life Optimum Support project.
