Register for ACS Course on Simulation-Based Surgical Education and Training

The 10th annual American College of Surgeons Accredited Education Institutes (ACS-AEI) Postgraduate Course will take place September 8−9 at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) Simulation, Portland. The registration deadline is August 28.

OHSU Simulation is one of 95 ACS-AEIs that uses simulation-based technology to educate and train practicing surgeons, surgical residents, medical students, and members of the surgical team.

This year’s course is Breaking Down Silos to Build Interprofessional Excellence. The first day will feature a special keynote presentation by the coach of the Portland Trailblazers (the city’s professional basketball team) on managing experts, as well as presentations from OHSU faculty who will showcase simulation efforts used to develop competency across multiple health care disciplines and professions. On the second day, attendees will explore the technical skills and cognitive-based training centers through interactive workshops.

Visit the ACS-AEI Postgraduate Course website to view the program, register for the meeting, and reserve a hotel room. The deadline to book within the College’s discounted room block at Portland’s new Hyatt House is August 6.
