ACS presents Lifetime Achievement Award posthumously to Dr. Russell

The ACS Lifetime Achievement Award was presented posthumously to Thomas R. Russell, MD, FACS, former Executive Director of the College, during the Convocation ceremonies at the 2014 Clinical Congress.

George F. Sheldon, MD, FACS: A lifetime of achievement as a scholar, surgical educator

ACS Past-President George F. Sheldon, MD, FACS, a great humanist and icon of American surgery at home and abroad, died of heart failure June 16 in Chapel Hill, NC.

Dr. Sheldon honored with Lifetime Achievement Award

The second Lifetime Achievement Award of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) was presented to George F. Sheldon, MD, FACS, during the Convocation ceremonies on at the 2012 Clinical Congress. Dr. Sheldon is the Zack D. Owens Distinguished Professor of Surgery at the University of North Carolina (UNC) at Chapel Hill School of Medicine and a Past-President of the ACS.
